SYMPHONY OF FOG: ENDEMICS OF THE CENTRAL ANDES (BIRDWATCHING)

World-class ornithological expedition in the number one country for birds on the planet: Otún Quimbaya, Río Blanco Reserve, and the Ruiz paramo.

Day 1: Sub-Andean Forests of Otún

Arrival at PEI and transfer to Otún Quimbaya. Search for the endemic Pava Caucana and owls at dusk.

Day 2: Multicolor Tanager and Transfer to Manizales

Early morning at the feeders searching for the Multicolored Tanager and the Rock Cock. Transfer to Manizales.

Day 3: The Paradise of the Grallarias in Río Blanco

Full day at the famous Río Blanco Natural Reserve: feeders with 4 species of Tororois and mountain toucans.

Day 4: Hacienda El Bosque and High Mountain Birds

Observation at high mountain feeders at 3,300 meters above sea level after the Tororoi Medialuna and Andean hummingbirds.

Day 5: The Chivito de Páramo at the Ruiz Hot Springs

Birdwatching at 3,900 m.a.s.l. focused on the endemic Páramo Goat among the frailejones and more than 25 species of hummingbirds.

Day 6: eBird List Closure and Return

Consolidation of the official list in eBird (goal: +180 species seen) and transfer to PEI airport.
