About San Antero

San Antero, in the department ofCórdoba, it is one of the calmest destinations of theColombian Caribbean, known for its serene beaches in theGulf of Morrosquillo, its virgin nature and traditional coastal culture. Located at the mouth of theSinú River, this municipality offers white sand beaches and warm waters surrounded by untouched mangroves. The ecological wealth of San Antero is remarkable, hosting extensive mangrove forests and hundreds of species of fauna, being even the most important area in Colombia for bird conservation (avifauna). In its tranquil bays, resident coastal dolphins can be spotted. San Antero is the only municipality in the country with this distinction, in addition to migratory birds, caimans, and other species in their natural habitat. All of this in a calm environment, away from mass tourism, which maintains the traditional charm of the Caribbean in every corner of the town.

This treasure of tourism in Córdoba is located approximately 70 km fromMontería, on the route that leads toCoveñas y Tolú, two popular beach resorts of the Gulf of Morrosquillo. This highly recognized festival at the national level is now one of the most traditional in the Colombian Caribbean.
